Different Gardens As the saying goes, different strokes for different folks. Indeed, there are different kinds of gardens for the many garden owners all over the UK. From the simplest windowbox gardens to expansive English landscape gardens; you can expect that each one is an expression of the personality of their owners.
Generally, gardens are meant to be aesthetic. Certainly in commercial applications such as in business establishments and in city centres, garden installations are designed to enhance the look of the surroundings.
Nevertheless, there are gardens that serve recreational as well as functional purposes. Many gardens provide valuable relaxation space that is close to nature and then there are gardens that are used for raising produce for a familys private consumption.
Most garden owners fancy raising flower gardens simply because they add beauty to their outdoor space. Whilst gardeners largely keep popular flora, like in the case of rose gardens or white gardens, there are gardens that are meant to be home to wildflowers as in natural or native gardening.
One type of garden is meant to be more productive rather than decorative. Vegetable gardens are maintained primarily to provide food for the gardeners household. There are also herbal gardens which at times can also be ornamental.
Gardens are mostly situated outdoors but there are some gardens that are indoors or otherwise walled or enclosed such as Roman gardens, greenhouses and garden conservatories. There are also gardens that follow particular themes like Zen gardens, rock gardens, Chinese gardens and water gardens just to name a few. |
