Welwyn Garden City
Welwyn Garden City (pronounced /ˈwɛlɪn/) (also refferred to as Welwyn Garden or Welwyn) is a town within the Welwyn Hatfield borough of Hertfordshire, England. It is located approximately 20 miles (32 km) from Charing Cross and approximately 10 miles (16 km) from the London Borough of Barnet and the London Borough of Enfield. Welwyn Garden City was the second garden city in England (founded 1920) and one of the first new towns (designated 1948).
Welwyn Viaduct
The Welwyn Viaduct, also called Digswell Viaduct is a railway viaduct that carries the East Coast Main Line over the River Mimram and a locally important landmark. It is located between Welwyn Garden City and Digswell. It is just to the south of Welwyn North railway station.

The Frythe is a country house set in its own grounds in rural Hertfordshire, just outside the village of Welwyn, about 30 miles north of London. In its time, it has been a landed gentleman's residence, an hotel, a secret government research establishment (used by the Special Operations Executive), and now a modern commercial research facility, operated by GlaxoSmithKline. The Frythe site has a planned closer by GlaxoSmithKline for the end of 2010. The site is for sale and open to offers.
